Media Creation Guide

Media Design Guidelines

Creating media that performs well is simple and easy when you follow the what matters pyramid.

In each of the 4 examples below, pay attention to:

How the offer stands out and is clear, easy to read, and easy to understand.

The appealing value proposition of the offer

The bright, clear, eye-catching designs, clear, eye-catching designs

Contrast the examples above with the examples below, pay attention to:

Lack of clarity and readability in the offers (or overwhelm and confusion)

Unattractive value proposition (what's in it for me?)

Also note that even good design and a clear offer will not work if the offer is lousy (see 2 right examples)

How To Size Media

When you post an ad on Meta, you get access to several different ad placements across Facebook and Instagram, and content is sized slightly differently on each placement. We recommend using a single file that fits all placements.

To do this, use a single file that is 1w x 1.8 h (in pixels 1080w x 1920h), and place all important text and images in the middle third of the image. If you follow this approach, the image will appear correctly on all placements.

If you place important text or content outside of the middle third, it will be cut off on shorter placements.

How To Ensure Media Is Always Sized Properly

We have made optimizing media super easy by ensuring that all of the templates we provide are sized correctly. Simply follow the image and text sizing found in the templates, and you are good to go!

Creating Your Own Media

Your own content can produce excellent results by branding the ad to your clinic and making it feel more local. This guide will show you how to quickly and easily create media with your own content in a way that follows our advertising principles and gets results.

Sourcing Content

We recommend that you start with images rather than video. They are much simpler to work with and design - and we see little to no difference in performance, as long as you apply our What Works framework.

Start with 2-3 images. Search your social media accounts, website, and camera roll. If you don't have any pictures, snap some! Fancy is NOT necessary - candid smartphone shots perform the best. If it takes longer than a coffee break, you are doing it wrong.

Look For: People, Eye Contact, Smiles, Group Staff Photos, Treatment Demonstrations.

Performs Poorly: Photos without people, stock images from equipment manufacturer. Against Meta Rules (will get restricted): Before & afters, needles, blood, accentuating a particular body part (like squeezing jowls or love handles)

Editing Your Media

After collecting 2-3 images, the next step is to turn them into creative that attracts clicks, leads, and purchases.

  1. Open our Clinic Content Canva Template
  1. Choose the template which best suits your image
  1. Replace the image in the template
  1. Update the text with your offer
  1. Download the creative

Important Note: Be conscious of sizing the template correctly. The templates are built so that they work on all Meta placements, and they do not get cut off. See our Media Design Guide for more sizing information.
